This article outlines the process of downloading and running #LancsBox X for the first time. Please follow the relevant steps below based on your operating system. #LancsBox X can run on Windows, MacOs, and Linux.
For all operating systems:
1) Navigate to the #LancsBox X download page:
2) Download the appropriate version of #LancsBox X based on your machine operating system.
3) Once the file has downloaded, open it to run the installer. (Please note, you may see a security warning on your machine - LancsBox is safe to run, so you should agree to these and continue).
4) Please Note: Always install #LancsBox to a folder, where the tool has ‘read and write’ privileges such as the User folder or Desktop; On Windows, never install #LancsBox to Program Files.
5) Different operating systems may require one or more extra steps in order to install or run #LancsBox X. If you experience issues please follow the guidance below based on your OS:
Windows
- Windows might display the following message: “The app you are trying to install isn’t a Microsoft-verified app”. If this warning message appears, click on ‘Install anyway’.
MacOS
- Open “System Preferences” in the dock, click on “Security & Privacy".
- Click on “Open Anyway” next to the message “LancsBox X Installer was blocked because it is not from an identified developer”.
Click on “open” when the message “LancsBox X Installer.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software” is displayed in a new window.
You should have now successfully installed #LancsBox X. Detailed guidance of how to use the software is provided in the #LancsBox X manual and in other articles in the Knowledge Base.
